Riali Consult has once again demonstrated its growing reputation for excellence in destination management and professional ground handling after successfully coordinating the visit of the Columbia–WHO Center for Global Mental Health delegation to Ghana.

The high-level delegation spent more than a week in the country engaging key stakeholders across Ghana’s mental health ecosystem while also experiencing the nation’s rich culture and heritage. Throughout the visit, Riali Consult provided comprehensive logistical coordination, transportation, and tour facilitation, ensuring the delegation’s engagements and cultural excursions ran smoothly.

The visit formed part of broader international efforts to deepen collaboration on mental health policy, research and advocacy across Africa.

During their stay, the delegation held a series of high-level meetings and consultations with institutions actively shaping mental health policy and services in Ghana. These engagements included visits to the Ministry of Health, Basic Needs Ghana, Mind Freedom Ghana and the Melody Centre at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The discussions focused on strengthening mental health systems, improving community support structures and identifying opportunities for collaboration between African institutions and international partners.

Participants explored pressing issues affecting mental health delivery on the continent, including access to services, stigma reduction, community-based care, and the integration of mental health into national health policies.

A major highlight of the delegation’s visit was the Mental Health by Africa for Africa Summit, a landmark gathering that brought together mental health experts, advocates, researchers, and practitioners from several African countries.

The summit provided a platform for African voices to take the lead in shaping solutions for mental health challenges facing the continent. Discussions centred on developing African-led strategies, strengthening cross-border collaboration, and sharing innovative approaches to mental health care delivery.

Beyond their official engagements, members of the delegation also took time to explore Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and historical landmarks through a series of curated excursions organised by Riali Consult.

Among the sites visited were the Shea Butter Museum, the historic Elmina Castle, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and the National Museum of Ghana.

These experiences provided the visitors with deeper insight into Ghana’s history, culture, and traditions, offering a well-rounded perspective of the country beyond their professional engagements.

Speaking about the visit, the Chief Executive Officer of Riali Consult, Mrs. Alisa Osei-Asamoah, expressed satisfaction with the successful execution of the assignment and the opportunity to host such a distinguished international delegation.

She noted that coordinating the visit required careful planning and close collaboration with multiple stakeholders to ensure every aspect of the programme ran efficiently.

“We are truly honoured that the Columbia–WHO Center for Global Mental Health delegation entrusted Riali Consult with the responsibility of handling their visit to Ghana,” she said.

According to her, working closely with professionals engaged in mental health advocacy and research also offered important learning opportunities for her team.

“This experience has provided valuable insight into the critical issues surrounding mental health, not only in Ghana but across Africa. It has deepened our appreciation of the importance of mental health advocacy and the role collaboration plays in advancing care and awareness,” Mrs. Osei-Asamoah explained.

She also praised the professionalism and dedication demonstrated by the Riali Consult team throughout the visit.

“I must commend my team for the exceptional level of professionalism they displayed. From coordinating meetings with key institutions to organising cultural tours across different parts of the country, they ensured that the delegation’s stay in Ghana was productive, comfortable and memorable,” she added.
