A new partnership aimed at strengthening travel connections between West and East Africa was announced in Accra as Air Tanzania officially appointed Dodi Travel and Tours as its Passenger Sales Agent (PSA) in Ghana.
The announcement was made during a breakfast meeting held on March 11 at the W. E. B. Du Bois Centre, where travel agents, tour operators, and key stakeholders in the tourism and aviation sectors gathered to discuss opportunities arising from the airline’s growing presence in the Ghanaian market.

The appointment comes just weeks after Air Tanzania launched its operations to Ghana in February, marking a significant step in the airline’s strategy to expand its footprint across Africa and strengthen connectivity between the continent’s western, eastern and southern regions.
Speaking at the event, Lugendo Khalfan, Country Manager of Air Tanzania in Ghana, expressed confidence in the new partnership and its potential to boost passenger traffic between the two countries.
Khalfan noted that the collaboration with Dodi Travel and Tours would enhance the airline’s sales reach and strengthen engagement with travel trade partners in Ghana, ultimately increasing passenger numbers on the Accra–Dar es Salaam route and beyond.

As Passenger Sales Agent, Dodi Travel and Tours will be responsible for promoting and selling Air Tanzania’s passenger services in Ghana, working closely with travel agents and tour operators to expand the airline’s customer base and facilitate travel across its network.
In an interview after the meeting, Ahmed Naaman, Chief Executive Officer of Dodi Travel and Tours, expressed appreciation to industry colleagues for their support and participation in the event.
“As the PSA of Air Tanzania in Ghana, that is the passenger sales agent for Air Tanzania in Ghana, I want to take this opportunity at the end of this program today to thank all my colleagues, tour operators, travel agents, colleagues in the industry for attending this very important breakfast meeting that we hosted,” he said.
“It has really, we’ve really gone through a lot of networking, deliberations, and understanding how Air Tanzania operates. As we already explained, Air Tanzania has very good connections in eastern and southern Africa.”
Naaman highlighted the airline’s expanding international network, noting that in addition to its African routes, Air Tanzania also serves key global destinations including Dubai, Guangzhou and Mumbai.
“Fares are very, very good. We promise to give travel agents good fares and good group fares to these destinations. We’re currently working on so many incentives and packages for tour operators and travel agents,” he added.
He further encouraged industry stakeholders to take advantage of the opportunities the partnership presents.
“I want to entreat my colleagues to count on our support and our assistance in any of their requests. We are very eager to service them and make sure that we write a successful story for Air Tanzania in Ghana.”
Founded in 1977 and headquartered in Dar es Salaam, Air Tanzania is the national carrier of Tanzania and has been undergoing a major revitalization program in recent years. The airline has expanded its fleet and route network as part of the Tanzanian government’s efforts to strengthen the country’s aviation sector and position Dar es Salaam as a regional aviation hub.
